Global Bicycle Race

The longest, toughest, most dramatic adventure competition ever.

Since setting the Guinness World Record for the fastest circumnavigation by bicycle,
Vin Cox has received many enquiries about a cycle race around the world. He’s now committed to organising it.

Vin Cox set the Guinness World Record for Fastest Circumnavigation by Bicycle when he finished at the Greenwich Royal Observatory on 1st August 2010.

More information about Vin’s “Great Bike Ride” can be found on www.greatbikeride.com.

Vin is married to Helen, a teacher specialising in outdoor and adventurous activities. They met at University in Chester where Vin achieved a joint honours degree in Sports Science and IT. Vin worked with IT in the transport industry, then financial services and new media. With cycle racing as a hobby, Vin occasionally raced overseas on a semi-professional basis.

After a long honeymoon travelling the world in 2005 Vin worked as a management consultant. By 2008 the idea of the World Record attempt was developing and Vin trained and worked as a cycle safety instructor, visiting schools and spending a lot of time on a bicycle. During summers from 2006 onwards Vin worked on the organising teams of Britians biggest mountain bike festivals.

He’s now planning future adventures, writing about his experiances, and organising the Global Bicycle Race.
